Director
Arj Arul
Arj is a specialist dispute resolution and commercial lawyer bringing twenty years of experience to find structured solutions to the most complex of problems. He started his career fighting his client’s corner in the county courts and the high court covering diverse disputes in general contract, employment, business and property. Arj works with his clients, getting to know what is important to them and how their businesses work so that he is able to act quickly and robustly whenever he is called upon. He regularly advises businesses and individuals on employment law areas including unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, business reorganisations and contract matters. Arj sit as a part time Judge in the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). Arj is also an Associate Lecturer at The Open University, an External Tutor at the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) as well as having volunteer board roles with the Citizens Advice Bureau and a local school for children with special educational needs.

Business Manager
Rachel Chambers
Rachel is an experienced business manager and executive assistant. With a background in business and finance, her twenty year career gives a breadth of experience including big-six consultancies, financial services, manufacturing and the legal sector. Often the link between businesses and their customers, her naturally effective communication skills and highly-organised work ethic enable a level of support that helps businesses thrive.

Senior Legal Adviser and Mediator
Ken Ragon-Chambers
Prior to taking up law, Ken worked in the telecommunications industry in the UK, Hong Kong and New Zealand. He was latterly chief executive of a UK listed telecom network operator. Ken gained his LL.B at The Open University (The OU) and trained as a civil and commercial mediator. He became part of Spires team in September 2019. Keeping contact with his alma mater, Ken is a Mediation Ambassador at The OU and undertakes pro bono work for The OU Law Clinic. Ken is particularly interested in commercial and shareholder disputes; IP; and copyright matters.

Senior Legal Adviser and Mediator
Glenn Stanbury
Glenn is an experienced and skillful litigator, dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters. He was originally called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2013, and acquired numerous other qualifications in the legal field. He is a key member of the Spires’ litigation team with a diverse caseload. He regularly supports individuals and companies in high value commercial and contractual litigation, company and partnership matters, employment tribunals, and professional negligence cases. He is also experienced in regulatory medical cases, and regulatory crime.

Legal Assistant
Lisa Brown
Lisa has worked within the legal sector for over twenty years, and is a very experienced legal assistant. In recent years, she has specialised in personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Lisa works alongside and supports the principal fee earners, enabling them to operate efficiently and provide a professional service to all clients. In Lisa’s spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking long walks in the countryside.

Solicitor
Jumaal Ahmed
Jumaal is a Solicitor with a particular interest in dispute resolution, intellectual property, personal injury, employment and landlord and tenant matters. After studying at Surrey University, Oxford Brookes University and the University of Law he joined Spires in November 2022 and qualified as a Solicitor in March 2025. He continues to have a varied caseload dealing with civil litigation, employment, music publishing, tenancy disputes, shareholder disputes and consumer rights. Jumaal enjoys helping clients to achieve their desired outcome, feels great satisfaction in doing so and has an unshakeable drive to achieve the best possible results. In his spare time he enjoys history, sports and music.

Litigation Executive
Linda Stapleton
Linda is an experienced Litigation Executive specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence matters. Prior to joining Spires Legal, Linda worked for a firm of solicitors based in the New Forest who specialised in complex injury claims. Linda brings a wealth of experience with her. Her previous experience as a Senior Medical Secretary for local GP surgeries and hospitals provided her with a particular perspective and insight which serves her well in the legal sector. Her ability to guide clients through the legal process, often after a traumatic experience following an accident or clinical negligence incident, helps her deliver an unrivalled level of service. Linda enjoys job satisfaction from helping her clients, particularly when a claim is successful, making a huge difference to the client’s quality of life. In her spare time, Linda enjoys reading, history, live music, science fiction and horror.

Senior Litigation Executive
Garry Sleet
Garry is an experienced lawyer, with more than forty years’ experience in litigation matters ranging from general private client work, debt collection and matrimonial through to personal injury claims arising from road traffic accidents, employers and public liability as well as clinical/medical negligence. Garry has worked with major law firms dealing with both Claimant and Defendant matters. He feels this gives him a well-rounded approach to claims and settlement, whilst his experience of private client and matrimonial work has resulted in an approachable and sympathetic attitude and desire to achieve the best result in the shortest time for clients. His leisure pursuits include running and rambling together with problem-solving.

Trainee Solitor
Aisha Khanam
Aisha is a second year trainee solicitor with a focus on contract and consumer disputes, landlord and tenant matters, property disputes, and general litigation. Since completing her LPC MSc in 2023, Aisha has gained experience in numerous areas of law with exposure to a wide variety of disputes and complex legal issues during her time as a legal assistant, paralegal and now as a trainee solicitor. With an increased interest in advocacy, Aisha has prepared for and represented clients in several possession hearings and interim applications, achieving successful outcomes. Outside the office, Aisha is the unofficial family baker, known for experimenting with inventive recipes for her friends, family, and social media platforms. She’s equally passionate about health and wellbeing, often diving into new skincare research, fitness routines, and lifestyle trends to maintain a balanced work-to-home lifestyle.

Senior Estate Planner
Jake Chambers
Jake has had a diverse career: he held senior positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Vodafone and Nationwide Building Society before leaving the corporate world to start his legal career. He is an accredited civil and commercial mediator with his own practice but spends most of his time as an Estate Planner and Will Writer. He is a full member of the Society of Will Writers and an Affiliate Member of STEP. As an Estate Planner, Jake deals with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax planning, Testamentary Trusts and inter-vivos Trusts. Jake also makes good use of his Estate Planning experience mediating contentious probate disputes.

HR Advisor
Louise Skittrall
Louise is a senior HR professional with over 20 years experience in various sectors including hospitality, retail, IT and the not for profit sector. Louise is a fellow of the CIPD with a breadth of operational and strategic experience. Key strengths include influencing employees at all levels, a proactive approach and ability to get up-to-speed quickly to understand the complexity of organizations. Her engaging management style places a high value on working in partnership to engage staff and inspire performance; with a reputation for helping people confront reality and excelling in business transformation & TUPE assignments. Experience of managing complex projects, leading teams and driving change in organizations.

Litigation Executive
Bartosz Maj
Bartosz is an experienced Litigation Executive and has spent the last ten years developing a strong personal injury and clinical negligence practice. He is passionate about learning new areas of law. Having relocated from Poland, he is fluent in Polish, English and Russian. He loves to travel and fly drones.

Trainee Solicitor
Beata Suwalska-Pawlik
Beata is a Trainee Solicitor with a passion for family and employment law. Beata has many years experience supporting individuals with complex family issues and covers the full range of matrimonial work including separation, divorce, financial relief and children applications. Beata is no stranger to a court room, regularly advocating for her clients to achieve the best outcomes for them. Originally from Poland, Beata speaks fluent Polish, German and English.

Trainee Solicitor
Patrick Keogh
Patrick is currently pursuing his Masters of Law, with a focussed interest in Human Rights and Constitutional Law. An avid Ironman triathlete, he dedicates most of his spare time to rigorous training. When he isn't swimming, cycling, or running, Patrick enjoys cooking, reading, and skiing - provided he can find a rare gap in his training calendar.
